Bio
I’m 25 years old and I got married last July to the love of my life. We jumped on a plane the next day and I competed at the 2014 CrossFit Games. Needless to say it was the fastest and most exciting week of my life.
I am born and raised in San Joaquin Valley, California with my sister Sarah. Raised in the country, I was taught the importance of hard work at an early age from my father and mother. It was there where I found my first love, Football. My family and I eventually moved to southern Missouri and also we were blessed with another sister, Emma Grace.
I played football in college at Central Methodist University, Missouri. It was during this time I found that I actually enjoyed the training more than the games. Conditioning tests presented by coaches were just tests to see how much I could surpass their expectations.
After graduation I started working for the US Army on Fort Leavenworth. I was invited to try this thing called “CrossFit” by a coworker. My first workout consisted of me being yelled at for not going fast enough on T2B and rowing—I had no idea what I had gotten myself into. I fell in love with it and never looked back.

Best day of the week to eat donuts: Definitely Tuesday night.
Favorite movement(s): Pistols, HSPU, Handstand walking, burpees
Least Favorite movement(s): Deadlift…..
Favorite music while working out: My girl T-Sweezy (Taylor Swift)

How I Train
If I had to pick two words that would describe my training it would be:
• Volume
• Goats
Let me explain before you assume I’m chasing goats around like Rocky chasing chickens.
Volume: I’m a huge fan of volume. Pulling three-a-days is common place for me all year round. Because of that I heavily depend upon my body’s ability to recover before the next day – FitAid being one main source of recovery for me. I attempt to mock a competition day in and day out, which includes multiple METCONs, with varying time domains, paired with a strength/Olympic lifting session. Through this process I’m forcing myself to adapt to larger volume so that come “3..2..1..” I’m able to keep going through multiple events. It amazing how our bodies can adapt to the stimulus you force them through.
Goats: “activities/movements that you as an athlete don’t consider yourself proficient at.” Don’t look that up in Webster that’s my definition. For myself goats consist of heavy barbell movements so every day is an opportunity to program against myself, chuck full of goats, and work at turning my least proficient movement into my most proficient.
