Bio
I'm 33 years old and live in Lodi, California. I own and coach at my gym in Stockton, CrossFit 209 Sport. My partner, Vince Carter, and I have owned this gym for over six years. Since opening in 2009, being the first in the area to open a CrossFit gym, we've had the opportunity to watch CrossFit grow not only in our area but throughout the world.

I'm privileged enough to be part of CrossFit HQ as a L-1 seminar staff member...this allows me to combine two of my passions, teaching fitness and traveling the world! I get to request seminars anywhere in the world, which has allowed me to meet some amazing people, get some cool tattoos and see some unique CrossFit gyms.

My wife Kirstie, whom also competes in CrossFit (2013/2014 NorCal regional competitor), and I love to travel the world together and usually get out of the states a couple times a year. We got engaged in Prague last year and are heading to Spain, France and Italy this summer(2015)! Along with my passion for competing in CrossFit, I like to take my Tacoma off-roading, shoot guns, eat ribs and occasionally consume lots of beers!

How I Train
I've typically train 3 on 1 off 2 on 1 off.. It seems to allow me to train at the highest intensity possible without overtraining... I usually do everything in one 2-3 hour session.. As the CrossFit season nears and throughout, I will do 2-3 sessions a day, 2-3 days a week and one session the other days... Typical day might be a "skill" warm up, followed by some strength training, then finishing with some metcon type workouts... At least 1-2 days a week I do no strength and just condition.. My leg strength always has and does suck so I squat 3 days a week heavy alternating between front and back... Other then that it's pretty much constantly varied functional movements performed At high intensity... CrossFit!
